چکیده
Technological innovation is widely recognized as an endogenous element of capitalism driving economic growth and consumption. Although technological innovations have benefited human health, quality life, comfort, especially in high-income countries, uncontrolled industrialization mass consumption exert strong environmental pressure on natural resources contribute to the degradation environment. Apart from their role economy consumption, these are characterized by specific trends that affect sustainability manufactured goods patterns, such rate market penetration, ownership goods, product lifespan, reparability, recyclability. This paper aims a theorization relationship between innovation, sustainability. To this end, we propose typology characterizing constitute coherent framework. These then documented evaluate magnitude, drivers, related issues, following broad principles integrative literature reviews through purposeful review sampling. The trend framework emerged with regards innovations: (a) accumulation; (b) diversification; (c) substitution; (d) complexification. work contributes identifying formalizing: (1) terminology regarding each trend, (2) concepts should be considered theorize (un)sustainable (3) main drivers sustain trends, (4) interactions (5) societal consequences material energy waste management.

This paper reviews and discusses the debate over the effectiveness of environmental regulation in promoting industrial Technological Environmental Innovation (TEI). Using the innovation-friendly regulatory principles adapted from Porter and van der Linde (1995a, 1995b), this paper demonstrates how properly designed and implemented environmental regulation (TEI promoting regulation) has played a...

Responding to rising concerns about environmental sustainability, governments around the world have committed to the promotion of more sustainable consumption patterns. Mainstream approaches to promoting sustainable consumption often involve government interventions: to correct prices, and to provide regulatory frameworks to influence producers to become more eco-efficient. Unfortunately, the s...

Indicators for the environmental pressure of consumption
An integrated input-output model is a useful tool for tracing environmental impacts of consumption. By including impacts originating from production layers of infinite order, the methodology is highly relevant for studies operating in a life-cycle context. In this work we show how the input-output approach can be used to enumerate the problem of sustainable consumption. From our recent as well ...
